DIY Season Lawn Care Services

Every season has its own laundry list of things to do for a lawn. Lawn care is determined upon the season and the type of grass you have. Warm and cool season grasses each have their own needs and grow in different seasons. Cumming Lawn Service has created a DIY season lawn care plan for warm and cool seasonal grasses. Cumming Lawns Services clients in Cumming and North Alpharetta will most likely have warm season grass.

Warm Season Grass

Warm Season Grasses are commonly found in the southern U.S. and the west. Warm grass peak growing season are from Spring-Fall. Winter is especially hard for warm season grass as it does not tolerate cold weather well and will remain dormant until spring. The three most well known warm grasses are Zoysia, Bermuda, and St. Augustine.

Cool Season Grasses

Cool season grasses are primarily found in the northern and eastern U.S. Cool seasons grow in spring and fall. Summer is hard on cool grasses since it does not adapt to heat well. Winter is easier for cool grass than warm grass but will remain dormant as well until spring. The three most common cool grasses are Ryegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, and Fine Fescue.

Transitional Region

This region is occupied by both warm and cool season grasses. This transitional region has a adequate climate for both and usually have an equal number of both types.
