It is a little wet out there - watch out for dollar spot.
Cumming Lawn Service
I'm sure most have noticed the newsletters have stopped. I hate that has been the case.
July is normally Georgia's wettest month. This is good for turf and shrubs but we have to watch for some fungus and insects. The fungus is mainly dollar spot in Bermuda lawns. A lot of times all that is required is the fertilize treatment that usually falls sometime in this month. However today is the first day of August and "normally" it will be a little drier with a few weeks of dog day summer left. We will be gentle on the lawns trying not to brown it as we mow. However this time of year it is not uncommon to see some discoloration in the lawn each week when it is mowed. We will also be getting the shrubs in shape in the next month prepping for our first frost in October. After mid September we want want to prune anymore to allow the shrub to harden and stop new growth so the frost doesn't burn or damage the plant. Hope to see you in passing soon.
